Rebirth of a 1960’s classic
The photos of the existing show a house that had good bones but no life, the young family wanted a contemporary home with new life and so a rebirth was required and the birth was dramatic. The elevated portion of the home was extended providing larger more spacious bedrooms, the red brick was cement rendered giving a modern and inviting feel, the existing sandstone panel for was retained and adds character next to the new modern front door.
The airy Al Fresco area with lap pool provides a fantastic entertaining area while still being part of the living area, the stone feature wall, weatherboard cladding and a timber beam from an old factory together with clerestory windows add a welcoming style and allows northern light and to the Family room. The Kitchen/Family Meals area was opened into one space allowing the family to enjoy each other and the concealed Butler’s Pantry can be hidden from view after the work is done and the party begins! When sold, the house brought an above expected price!
